At first it was hinted this would have game elements but it is clearly about creating music on the go! WiFi and a memory card allow you to share your creations!

| Beaterator isn’t really a game. It is, however, an interesting new music app designed specifically for PSP. |

Strategy games give a great insight into the mindset of the Military Commanders at the time. Can you do any better than the Commanders from History? Do you have any anxiety over sending pixels to their deaths?

PSP and DS will soon be home to a brand new turn-based strategy game from Koch Media. Military History Commander – Europe at War is the first in a “new series of games.” Set in a World War II, players can choose to play as either the Axis or the Allied forces. From the looks of things, this will be a rather standard grid-based strategy affair, with visuals akin to the Advance Wars series of games.
Six scenarios are planned for the handhelds, including Operation Barbarossa and D-Day. Players will also be able to create 50 different inventions and recruit famous historical commanders throughout the game. The in-game artwork is done by Osprey Publishing.
For now, the game has been announced for release in Europe only. We’ll have to wait and see if it sees the light of day in the States as well.

Buzz! is coming to the UK and he’s taking no prisoners. Whether you’re a PS3, PSP or PS2 owner, you’ll be able to get your hands on the latest Buzz! title, Buzz! Brain of the UK. Due out in March, Brain of the UK’s questions will focus on UK culture, including “bands, cities, sports personalities, television favourites, wildlife, food and more.”
The PS3 version will feature over 4000 questions and, just like Buzz! Quiz TV, a national leaderboard as well as MyBuzzQuiz.com and premium question pack support. The PSP version will feature 6-player multiplayer on a single console as well as a single player mode with collectible medals and awards. The PS2 version will support “thousands” of questions, which is apparently enough to keep you “buzzing for hours.”
No word on the price or exact release date for any version of Brain of the UK yet, but we should hear something more concrete before its release in March.

Slowly over the years
Brain Challenge has found itself on almost every single gaming platform available. Strangely enough I was first exposed to Brain Challenge when it appeared as a free game within a 2GB Memory Stick. This led me to investigate further about the game and what I found was plenty. I am impressed how Gameloft have managed to get it on so many platforms!
I decided to do a write up once I noticed how the PSN or Playstation Network had updated to allow for the download of Brain Challenge for both the PS3 and PSP for £7.99. You can purchase it as a Blu-Ray for £17.99. PSN WEBSITE
If you have enjoyed the game on one platform then you are famliar with the title and there is no real divergence except for the odd exclusive mini-game. Obviously the iPhone, Touch and DS have a touch interface which allows for a more interactive experience. The mouse interface on the PC gives it an ease of use functionality as well.

LocoRoco is one of teh most theraputic titles available for any system. The simple control method allows almost any person to access the game. It is difficult to master but the game rewards persistance and patience. It is the ZEN master of platforming and also the TELETUBBY of mascots. An interesting mix for sure. For more information, images and a video, visit the link below.
| The LocoRoco are in danger again, the evil Moja have returned and this time they’ve brought with them a terrible song that sucks the life out of living things! The LocoRoco must once again save their planet – this time by making lots of sweet music. |

The Game website has a rather in depth guide to gaming for parents. It is somewhat buried though. You can find it through the Help section of the site. It features good information on the BBFC and PEGI rating schemes, although you should visit the sites to learn more. Its main aim is to drive worried parents to relevant games on its site. It has good links to puzzle, family and party games that are available on a variety of platforms including Sony PSP, PS2 and PS3. I have organised my PSP Store and PS3 Store so that you can purchase relevant games, whether you are a parent, teacher or student. I will continue to update the store montly.

I love this game. I have the
demo on my PS3 and PSP. The training demo allows you to get use to the game and the special rules taht govern it. I think its a great calming game for all, especiall teachers and students. I also believe it to be a geat spatial awareness test. Download it and give it a go!!
PS3 owners go direct to the PSN Store in any country!
|
Here’s your chance to get echochrome on your PSP. This demo will give you a small taste of this Escher-inspired perspective-bending puzzle game. The Triangle button will pause the game, allowing you to think. The X button will speed up the avatar. Simply experiment — we’re sure you’ll do well!
|
1. Download the demo zip file. [Click here for direct download from PSP.]
2. Extract the contents of the zip file.
3. Connect your PSP to your computer using a USB cable.
4. Go to the PSP/GAME folder.
5. Copy NPJG90019 folder into the GAME directory. Make sure there are no sub-directories in this folder. |
