I would like to see if I can create some Historical levels on the go!
Click to begin your LittleBig-screenshot gallery.
Sony has just released a few more screens of the upcoming PSP version of LittleBigPlanet. Anyone who has played the PS3 game will find a lot of familiar environments and mechanics: jetpacks and swings, for example. Pay attention, and you’ll even see an adorable Sackboy wearing a turban. We can’t wait to dress our Sackboy in this new handheld attire! |

At first it was hinted this would have game elements but it is clearly about creating music on the go! WiFi and a memory card allow you to share your creations!

| Beaterator isn’t really a game. It is, however, an interesting new music app designed specifically for PSP. |

PSPTeacher will be updated less frequently than in the past as a number of uses have been covered and the news appears very rarely.
Later in the year PSPTeacher will have New Pages which will house the following:
VIDEO PAGE
PODCAST PAGE
GAME PAGE
I would ask you to visit these when updated

This is a quirky littledownload coming to LBP. I imagine the stickers will be the usual interesting sort but there is no real info out on those yet. I love the LBP character and I use a sheet by Don’t Panic as a fun way for my students to create their own historical Sackboy!

The Japanese LittleBigPlanet website has revealed that some new historical DLC is scheduled for August 13. According to the above image, there will be both a History Kit (¥300) — which looks to include some new stickers and decorations — and a History Costume Pack (¥400). The costumes available include Ghengis Khan, Boudica, Countess of Lovelace and Mozart. Each costume will be availalbe individually for ¥100. Not available in the pack: Antonio Salieri. Now, if you’ll excuse us, it’s time to design a level about God laughing at him. [Via Playstation.com EU forums] |

An interesting article explores the issues around the reports and studies on violent media and the supposed links to agression.
Just recently the very stressful Tetris was commended for its ability to allow traumatised victims to regain confidence and remain calm.
How the research into violent media is carried out, and what conclusions are being drawn

Follow the link for Gamespot’s full article. Lets keep that pro-gaming evidence and studies coming.
European parliament report states “games can be used for educational purposes and contribute to the development of knowledge and various skills crucial in the 21st century.”
A report to be published by the European Parliament on video games looks likely to heavily promote the positive sides of gaming, according to a draft seen by GameSpot. The report also calls for the investigation of improved parental controls on consoles via a “red button,” and tightened regulation of the sale to children of games intended for adults.
The draft calls for an EU-wide resolution that: “Emphasises that video games are a great stimulant which in addition to entertainment can also be used for educational purposes; takes the view that schools should pay attention to video games and informing children and parents about benefits and disadvantages that video games can have.”

Four wat co-operation can be hand with this game. The demo is available in the Japanese Store.l
Like most upcoming games in Japan, Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 3 ( Disaster Report PSP) is coming equipped with an ad hoc multiplayer mode. The latest trailer for the survival game (found after the break) reveals that a maximum of four players can band together to brave a host of natural calamities. The video also shows a good chunk of the single-player gameplay, which involves a lot of crawling, busting down doors and pulling people out of wreckage. You can try it out for yourself in the demo that’s currently available on the Japanese PlayStation Store. |

Strategy games give a great insight into the mindset of the Military Commanders at the time. Can you do any better than the Commanders from History? Do you have any anxiety over sending pixels to their deaths?
|
PSP and DS will soon be home to a brand new turn-based strategy game from Koch Media. Military History Commander – Europe at War is the first in a “new series of games.” Set in a World War II, players can choose to play as either the Axis or the Allied forces. From the looks of things, this will be a rather standard grid-based strategy affair, with visuals akin to the Advance Wars series of games.
Six scenarios are planned for the handhelds, including Operation Barbarossa and D-Day. Players will also be able to create 50 different inventions and recruit famous historical commanders throughout the game. The in-game artwork is done by Osprey Publishing.
For now, the game has been announced for release in Europe only. We’ll have to wait and see if it sees the light of day in the States as well.

Buzz! is coming to the UK and he’s taking no prisoners. Whether you’re a PS3, PSP or PS2 owner, you’ll be able to get your hands on the latest Buzz! title, Buzz! Brain of the UK. Due out in March, Brain of the UK’s questions will focus on UK culture, including “bands, cities, sports personalities, television favourites, wildlife, food and more.”
The PS3 version will feature over 4000 questions and, just like Buzz! Quiz TV, a national leaderboard as well as MyBuzzQuiz.com and premium question pack support. The PSP version will feature 6-player multiplayer on a single console as well as a single player mode with collectible medals and awards. The PS2 version will support “thousands” of questions, which is apparently enough to keep you “buzzing for hours.”
No word on the price or exact release date for any version of Brain of the UK yet, but we should hear something more concrete before its release in March.
