Lucky Brits. Not only do they get to be in closer geographic proximity to the dreamy David Tennant than we do, they’re also extended some amazing post-Thanksgiving deals on typically pricey gaming equipment. Electronics retailer HMV is currently running two such offers in the UK — the company has dropped the price of the PSP Go to £148.99, down significantly from the handheld’s MSRP of £224.99. In addition, it’s reduced the cost for DJ Hero, normally £107.99, down to just £69.99. We’re not sure how long these prices will stay this low, so if you live in the United Kingdom and have any interest in turntabling or digital distribution revolutions, we suggest you get while the getting is good. |

So glad thisservice has started. The autoflow feature is one step above the iphone and ipod Touch version of the same comics. The widescreen display also seems to add a little bit more.
If you’re on the fence about Sony’s upcoming PSP Digital Comics service, the PlayStation UK blog has a few more sampler comics to decide whether the feature piques your interest. Available for lucky users in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa are two sampler comics, featuring the service’s highly touted Autoflow feature — which mimics the way your eyes read a page. Following the release of the PSP’s 6.20 firmware, PlayStation released comic samples of Transformers: All Hail Megatron and Aleister Arcane.
Free sample first-issues of Star Trek: Enterprise Experiment and Astro Boy: The Movie Adaptation are available until December 16. In order to grab your sample, make sure to first download the Comic App via the “Extras” section of the XMB (or through this link) for your PSP and use the redemption codes available on PlayStation’s UK blog. Then prepare to use your amazing 3D hardware to … read! |

Great post from PSPFanboy
by Ben Gilbert { 25 minutes ago }
So, umm, this is kind of awkward. We’re sorry to tell you, British Royal Navy, but it would appear that you’ve been duped. We know that the electric engineer everyone trusts so much – Reginald, that con artist! – has spent hours convincing everyone at HMS Collingwood in Hampshire how important it is for him to have a Sony PSP for “studying,” but we have to tell you: It’s a gaming system! He’s just using it to play games! |
The pre-loaded engineering software may help, but who’s to stop users from spending hours with Patapon 2 instead? And no matter how much they claim to be learning about naval combat from SOCOM: Tactical Strike, we’re pretty sure that’s a lie as well. We hope you’ve learned from this, and will think twice next time that dastardly Reginald proposes a gaming system as education.

Although it was developed by London Studios, teh USA is teh first to recieve digital comics. The service should be fully launched within the next few days.

If you’ve downloaded firmware 6.20 for your PSP, you’ll be able to access the Digital Comics service, featured under the new “Extras” section of the XMB. While the PlayStation Store won’t offer comics until next month, Sony is offering fans an early sneak peek at the service by offering free codes through the official PlayStation Comics website. Americans will be able to get the first issue of Transformers: All Hail Megatron, while Europeans can download the first issue of Aleister Arcane.
Each issue will take about 40MB of space on your Memory Stick / PSP Go. To get your trial codes, visit the PlayStation Comics website. |

I would like to see if I can create some Historical levels on the go!
Click to begin your LittleBig-screenshot gallery.
Sony has just released a few more screens of the upcoming PSP version of LittleBigPlanet. Anyone who has played the PS3 game will find a lot of familiar environments and mechanics: jetpacks and swings, for example. Pay attention, and you’ll even see an adorable Sackboy wearing a turban. We can’t wait to dress our Sackboy in this new handheld attire! |

At first it was hinted this would have game elements but it is clearly about creating music on the go! WiFi and a memory card allow you to share your creations!

| Beaterator isn’t really a game. It is, however, an interesting new music app designed specifically for PSP. |

This is a quirky littledownload coming to LBP. I imagine the stickers will be the usual interesting sort but there is no real info out on those yet. I love the LBP character and I use a sheet by Don’t Panic as a fun way for my students to create their own historical Sackboy!

The Japanese LittleBigPlanet website has revealed that some new historical DLC is scheduled for August 13. According to the above image, there will be both a History Kit (¥300) — which looks to include some new stickers and decorations — and a History Costume Pack (¥400). The costumes available include Ghengis Khan, Boudica, Countess of Lovelace and Mozart. Each costume will be availalbe individually for ¥100. Not available in the pack: Antonio Salieri. Now, if you’ll excuse us, it’s time to design a level about God laughing at him. [Via Playstation.com EU forums] |

An interesting article explores the issues around the reports and studies on violent media and the supposed links to agression.
Just recently the very stressful Tetris was commended for its ability to allow traumatised victims to regain confidence and remain calm.
How the research into violent media is carried out, and what conclusions are being drawn
